What is a freeroll?

Freerolls are large multiplayer poker games typically with 500 or more players. These are free to enter and generally have simple entry requirements.

Why do freerolls?

In most situations freerolls are a waste of time. Competing with 10,000 other players to win a small share of $100 is not a good use of your time!

There are however a number of freerolls that have high payouts of several thousand dollars, or fewer entrants. Some poker sites have entry requirements, these can be anything from placing a bet on their website to registering on their web forums. Usually these simple entry requirements put people off, so it is these tournaments that we would recommend you go for. This way you can end up playing in a tournament for $1000 dollars against only 100-200 or so players. In these circumstances freerolls are worth doing.

Recommended freerolls

skypoker currently offer a £1000 poker freeroll every Wednesday. This tournament requires 200 points to enter. When you sign up with skypoker you will receive 500 points allowing you to enter this tournament twice.
