The importance of poker tools
21 September 2010Imagine this scenario, and as a poker player it has probably happened to you!, you are in the middle of an exciting tournament. You are getting close to the money and have a reasonable amount of chips. You are dealt a suited ace king. A great start, the flop reveals two more cards of your suit and you bet heavily. This is then matched by another player. The turn card is useless to you but you stay in the pot. The River card shows you have an ace high flush and your opponent bets straight away. You laugh to yourself and raise him all in. He calls and....... you lost!
So what happened, well the river not only gave you a flush, but your opponent a full house. You probably didn't even notice it until its too late.
Now lets look at this scenario again. You have a poker tool, say Calculatem Pro. The same scenario happens, you get very excited, but this time before raising your opponent you glance over and realise you do not have the best hand. This slows you down and you re-access the cards. You might still call the hand, but you certainly won't go all in!
